As part of its 90th anniversary celebrations during 2025, the Camera Club of Johannesburg is hosting a National Digital Salon of Photography. CCJ invites all members of the Photographic Society of South Africa to submit their images in the categories below for judging and possible inclusion in the salon catalogue, which will contain the salon acceptances and awards. The Salon will be conducted within the requirements and practices as prescribed by PSSA.
The six image categories for the CCJ 90th anniversary salon are:
- NATURE (Birds only) – Colour images and manipulation is not allowed.
- NATURE (No birds) – Colour images and manipulation is not allowed.
- OPEN – Colour images and manipulation is allowed.
- OPEN – Monochrome images and manipulation is allowed.
- SCAPES – Colour images and manipulation is allowed.
- HUMAN PORTRAITS – Monochrome images and manipulation is allowed.
The following awards will be presented:
- PSSA Silver Medal for the overall winner in each category.
- Club Silver Medal for the runner-up in each category.
- Certificates of Merit will be awarded according to PSSA guidelines.
The closing date for entering the salon is 27 September 2025. The salon brochure which contains the full details of the salon calendar, categories, judges and conditions of entry can be downloaded below. The salon rules are in line with those published by the Photographic Society of South Africa.
